Injury and illness delayed Houston High's arrival in Alton to July.The 6-foot-5 right-handed pitcher from Nashville, Tennessee, has wasted no time making an impact with the Alton River Dragons. With High throwing seven shutout innings, the Dragons beat the Cape Catfish 9-0 to sweep a two-game Prospect League series at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on Wednesday night. Alton, already qualified for postseason after winning the first half Prairie Land Division title, improves to 3-5 in the second half and 21-18 overall.
